8th June 2023 Photo Challenge - Street
This time around we enjoyed a challenge with a street theme. As well as the more traditional street images we also included architecture, people and street art / graffiti. Once again the members embraced the challenge and we were treated to a number of great images that showed a variety of interpretation, technique and editing style. The theme promoted much discussion and valuable critique.

This meeting marked our last formal get together of the season. There are a number of field trips planned over the coming weeks the first of which is this weekend with a club outing to St Fagans National Museum of History.

11th May 2023 Photo Challenge - Spring
The theme of the challenge this time was Spring. Weather wise Spring has been fleeting to say the least this year but never the less, our members managed to come up with a whole range of images to match the the theme.
There were plenty of images of flowers as well as shots of Spring animals. Al least one member decided to think outside of the box and provided something totally unexpected. Well done to all who participated, some really lovely images were on display tonight

13th April 2023 Photo Challenge - Still Life
​
Another good night at the club with some excellent images on display and a lively discussion.
The range of subjects once again showed members had stepped up to the challenge and selected a wide variety of images to present. We had indoor table top shots as well as outdoor shots. Shots that had been set up and composed to shots that had been seen and were taken without manipulation. Not only were there a lots of different of subjects there was also lots of different lighting techniques on display ranging from natural daylight to small studio lighting.

A good discussion was had all evening with the authors talking about the inspiration for the shot and how lighting was used for the best effect.

The next meeting on the 27th April will see a review of images that are being put forward for possible selection for this years club exhibition.
30th March 2023 Photo Challenge - Something Different, Abstract or Weird
A good night with a well attended meeting and a theme that led to a good entry of first class images.
​
The theme for the night was really embraced by everyone and this meant a wide variety of images showing lots of different approaches and interpretations. The images ranged from subtle to weird to "what is that" to "that's disturbing" but were all well taken and interesting and it was clear that a lot of thought had gone into them.
​
Inevitably the variety and abstract nature of the images created a lively discussion talking about techniques and ideas with people sharing what they used and how they created the shots.
